WSJ: Universal Pictures may not have rights to ‘Ted 2’

The Wall Street Journal is probably the only newspaper I actually like. It’s journalism is raw, unfiltered, and at the end of the day always comes down to dollars and cents. Much to my surprise they actually had a pretty interesting story in there regarding the future of the Ted sequel.

Long story short, remember when Universal Studios put up a date in which the sequel to the biggest R-rated comedy was set to hit in theaters? Welp, guess what? It turns out Universal technically has no say when the fuck the movie comes out because Media Rights Capital were the ones who financed the original Ted only to sell the distribution rights to Universal Studios. A similar agreement as NOT come into fruition for the Ted sequel so right now MRC could turn around and sell the distro rights to FOX, Sony, shit they could turn around and sell it to Netflix!

However, the Wall Street Journal details that a deal between MRC and Universal Pictures is more than likely and as a result Ted fans shouldn’t fear. However, just keep it in the back of your mind that technically the Ted 2 release date isn’t 100 percent.
