Review: Uncle Grandpa ‘Treasure Map’
Spoilers Below
Gus, Steve, Tiger, and Grandpa are all at a restaurant but they can’t pay the bill. Thankfully, Uncle Grandpa finds a treasure map and decides to start digging a hole underneath the table so that the guys can find the treasure and pay the bill. The guys dig a hole that leads to a root beer river that in turn leads to a subway. A little more digging and the crew is at the bank and the alarms go off which causes the cops to show up. The guys run away and after a little more reading of the map, Uncle Grandpa wants to do more digging but Gus FLIPS out and causes the ground to collapse and for everyone to land on a pirate ship. The pirate on board has a quiz, but before Gus can answer is UG and Steve try to warn the giant lizard. They convince him to embrace the weird and that advice awards the guys a free meal coupon. Too bad it doesn’t cover all of the steak smoothies Tiger drank and because of that they gotta do dishes.
Family Guy literally JUST did a plot surrounding Peter finding a treasure map at a restaurant, but between you and me this one was a bunch funnier. For starters Steve is starting to GROW in the show and sure enough he is just dropping comedy BOMBS. This week’s episode also gave Gus a bit more time on the mic which is a good thing because when he gets angry it just makes for funny. Tiger was a son of a bitch, and Grandpa was great, too but I HATED the ending. I thought the pirate was OK, but this is a show about high octane crazy jinks so the last part featuring a competition basically took all of the steam out of what was an entertaining adventure.
