Bubbleblabber vs Carl’s Stone Cold Pick of the NFL Week 11: Chiefs vs Broncos

With last week’s Monday Night decision Carl’s picks moves to .500 win percentage and I’m one loss away from doing the same which puts me under even MORE pressure to pick this week’s pick because it’s a game that looks REALLY tough to call on paper. I mean both teams are legit contenders in the playoffs, so do they use EVERYTHING they have in their respected play books? Or do they just put up or shut up and let the best man win? This week Carl picks the Broncos to win and I hate to say it I agree. Here’s why:

Kansas City Chiefs

Being a Cowboys fan, I’ve hated Andy Reid most of my life when he coached for the Eagles and more so I would be the first to laugh my ass off when his kids OD’d and shit so fuck him. Now that he’s on the Chiefs, I can take my foot off of his neck a little bit and be cool with it. As great of a job as Andy Reid has been doing in using Alex Smith’s marginal abilities in winning games, I think the buck stops here. The Broncos are terribad on Pass D, but with a Smith that only dinks and dunks for first downs it won’t be much of an issue. Jamaal Charles is an outstanding running back, but this Broncos D has been unhealthy most of the year and STILL ranks 4th on Run D, so I don’t trust this game in Alex Smith’s hands.

Peyton Manning’s 1st-ranked Pass O against KC’s 4th ranked Pass D is going to be fun as hell to watch and I can’t wait. Where the battle may have to take place is on the ground, because that’s the tie breaker. Neither team is very good at the run game on neither side of the ball, but someone has to try and I think if the Broncos can keep to their averaging 100 yards a game on the ground in tact, I think Peyton can setup the play-action and throw it down field.
