Review: Teen Titans GO! ‘Books’
Books??
Spoilers Below
Everyone is bored and annoying so Raven introduces everyone to books and reading them. The guys get so infatuated with books that Raven comes up with the idea of starting a book club where the readers can share comments about the books that they read. Problem is the gloomy gal doesn’t like hers, but when she tries to be honest the heroes kind of get miffed. Worst yet, the heroes finish reading their books and they need MORE bucks to stay sane but there aren’t any around the house. Thankfully, Starfire finds a comic but since it has pictures they turn it down, so they continue the search..outside. Beast digs a bunch holes and soon discovers a chest with a book inside of it. When Raven finds out, she tells the guys they can’t read that book because it is evil. Well, Robin does anyway and the powers unleash all of the things that the heroes are imagining so Pelicans, Ben Franklin, Invisible Man, and Pinocchio come to life and start attacking. In order to fight back, the one time readers of these imaginary characters have to comment on what they read and as such it beats them back into the evil book. Yep, books are bad.
The best stuff about this episode was maybe the little stuff. Like the comic book drawing of the characters, the ‘bored’ sequence, the long drawn out stares by Robin. However, the premise was a little tired as we’ve seen a bunch of evil books in cartoons, and it just gets a little old. The montages SUCKED and one more would have had me turning the channel.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
