Last Week in Obituaries: Marcia Wallace aka ‘Edna Krabappel’
Springfield loses one of its leading ladies…all this and more after the cut.
On October 25, 2013 the world lost one of Springfield’s most notable residents…Edna Krabappel. Marcia Wallace of whom voiced the character pretty much for the show’s entire run passed away Friday evening with conflicting reports about the causes, but in any case the loss is a touch pill to swallow. Who can forget such classic Edna moments like when she first starting dating Principal Skinner or the constant detention sentences for Bart Simpson? No one!
We will post up full statements from The Simpsons cast as they come, but so far Al Jean has confirmed that Edna was NOT part of one of the Simpsons cast members being killed off and furthermore the character of Edna Krabappel will not be recast and will instead be retired.
Marcia Wallace was 70 years old at the time of he death, we here at Bubbleblabber offer our condolences to casts, crews, families, and friends as they mourn the loss of one of the greats.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
