Review: Teen Titans GO! “Colors of Raven”

Spoilers Below

Raven single-handedly takes out Dr. Light, but she has no witty one-liners to back it up which clearly means she isn’t a superhero. That said, the team find this prism and start messing around with it which of course leads to Raven dropping and shattering the prism into 5 pieces. The pieces react to her powers which causes us to now get five count ’em FIVE Ravens all at one, each with their own personality. At first Robin seems to like the added value of 4 extra Ravens, but soon they become a nuisance so this causes the Boy Wonder to devise a plan to try and get the Ravens to merge back to the old one. Problem is all of the Ravens end up down town which means they have to track down each one and absorb them in each of the prisms.

This week’s episode of Teen Titans GO! was another well thought out effort. For starters if there is anyone…ANYONE on planet Earth that can voice multiple personalities its Tara Strong as Raven. No joke, Tara is probably the best voice actress on the planet and to be honest second place is pretty far behind. I very seldom hear the same voice twice coming from her and this is coming from a guy that watches her on shows like Xiaolin Chronicles and in movies like Ted. Her sex appeal and debonair on the mic is matched only by her quick wit and charismatic overtures as she delivers her lines usually with no flaws attached. I also loved the Pac Man esque presentation in capturing all of the different Ravens, but I felt like the build up of the Raven exhibiting rage only to have her zapped in like two seconds was a bit of a let down. I really was expecting a full on battle with her, but alas it didn’t happen that way.
