Review: Regular Show ‘Benson’s Car’

Spoilers Below

Mordecai and Rigby smash in Benson’s windshield with a remote control by accident so they have to work together to distract Benson whilst the other grabs the boss’ keys so they can try and get it fixed. Mordecai and Rigby  find out that the car is pretty expensive to fix so they decide to hide the car until they can fix it, but now the cops are on the case. Muscle Man offers to help Mordecai and Rigby and as such recommends a guy to fix it. Benson decides to hire a bounty hunter named ‘Bringham Back Jack’  to go ahead and help him find his lost car. Equipped with a gun named ‘V.I.C.K.I.’ Jack is able to find out exactly where Mordecai and Rigby are AND where Benson’s car is. He eventually confronts Mordecai and Rigby as they are pulling up with Benson’s repaired car, but Jack isn’t having it and he goes BALLISTIC chasing these guys down. Mordecai and Rigby come clean to Benson about what happened to the car, and despite his best efforts Jack still tries to kill Mordecai and Rigby, but he ends up blowing up Benson’s car. ..

The overall premise of the episode had shades of “Limousine Lunchtime” to me, but really I got more of a Terminator vibe. Actually, I don’t know if anyone has seen the movie Fifth Element, but Jacks gun ‘V.I.C.K.I.’ looks a BIT inspired by the ZF-1. In any case, the chase was pretty hysterical with a twist ending that was rather satisfying…even if it looks as though it cost a fortune.
