Review: XIAOLIN CHRONICLES ‘A Girl Named Willow’
Spoilers Below
Omi has Willow locked down on training, but yea she’s a good cook, too. Unfortunately, she seems to be up to something.
With the rest of the team playing some Bball, Omi looks to join in but it looks like we are getting rather competitive with Ping Pong and even causes Omi to get injured. However, Willow is still playing suck up to try and get digits for a safe, but Omi won’t budge.
Raimundo starts to become smitten with Willow, but Kimiko might be catching on to her ulterior motives. Omi takes off to do some more training with Willow whom actually guesses one of the safe numbers correctly. She eventually returns to Chase to give him an update and they decide to get rid of Ping Pong. Also, back at the monastery, Kimmodo and Omi have a disagreement on whom should be the apprentice.
The team heads over to take on Jack again, but this time a big battle ensues between the team lead by Omi and the Jack bots. Jack eventually backs off, but not before Ping Pong gets a sighting of Willow in her usual form which causes him to be alarmed.
Omi and the gang head back to the monastery, but Ping Pong resigns pretty much because of Omi’s smart-ass mouth. Willow becomes the winner, but for how long?
The second episode offered up a nice twist with the introduction of Willow and us learning of her evil intentions, but the fights against Jack are becoming rather rehashed with plot points that are just difficult to follow and a bit all over the place. This was by far the worst of the three episodes, but I will say the mix of CG helps to brighten up the characters and helps deliver exciting battles.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
