Spoilers Below

This guy Denny is the next guy up on the list and Larry, Jeff, and Bill are on the case. Unfortunately, the trio get burned…literally and head back to HQ. Larry and Bill take off and Colby and Stacy come on by because Jeff’s Mom Donna is going to be watching Colby while Stacy and Nathan go to a seminar as a date. Interestingly enough, Stacy and Jesco have a 40th anniversary coming up, so now Jeff and Stacy have to plan a big huge party.

The next day, the guys come into the office to find that Bill had padlocked and set up surveillance all over HQ so that he can find out who has been taking his Corn Nuts! As luck would have it, someone broke in last night…and is still in the bathroom. Turns out it’s Jeff’s Dad Jesco and despite the fact that he crudely broke in he may have a lead in capturing Denny. The guys start driving over to where Jesco thinks Denny is while Donna heads on over to Nathan and Stacy’s house to watch Colby which is turning into a nightmare. Jeff’s got issues of its own, because we find that Jesco gave the Hunters a false lead and really he just needed Jeff to help settle an outstanding balance on a concert ticket. Jeff, of course, flips out and pulls his truck over to make a call. The guys get back on the road and head on over to the house of Denny’s girlfriend where yes, we find Denny. Problem is he takes off before the guys can land the cuffs and uses his lawn mower as the getaway. At first, Jesco uses this little event as a way to tease Jeff, but then is reminded that he needs a gift for Donna and as such steals Jeff’s truck and takes off. Thankfully, Lisa is able to come by and pick up the guys before anything Deliverance-esque takes place.

On the ride back, Lisa and the guys come across Denny attending to his broken down lawn mower. They use this opportunity to bag the bounty and then head to Donna and Jesco’s party which has started but with Jesco nowhere to be found. Eventually, the old geezer shows up, releases Denny, then gives Donna a pretty bad ass present.

Another day at the office another break-in…or was it?

To be honest I’m docking this episode for all of the terrible listings that CMT put me through to watch it. First they list a new episode on Saturday then change it to Wednesday only for it not to come on neither at the early OR the late hour. Finally, I just bought the damn episode on Amazon.com for the review and just said fuck it. In any case, Jesco is a really funny character bringing almost a Ricky Bobby-Resse Bobby dynamic that was well thought out even if the premise was a little cliche. There was the smallest sub plot ever with Donna taking care of Colby, but it never panned out as it really just lead to the party scene. In any case, here’s hoping that CMT doesn’t kill this show based on terrible show scheduling, Lord knows we’ve enough animated shows suffer as a result.
