Review: The Looney Tunes Show ‘Gossamer is Awesomer’
Spoilers Below
Gossamer is looking to run for class president and Daffy thinks he can help him win with the slogan, “Gossamer is Awesome”. He heads on over to Gossamer’s house to try and help, but Gossamer’s mom makes Daffy take her son to class instead and even scolds G’s campaign manager JUST for insinuating that Gossamer change his name to Steve for votes. When we get to class, we find out that Winnie Yang is running for president and as a result Daffy begins a personal campaign to try and bring her down. He starts by spreading a bunch of lies using his campaign vehicle, but Gossamer puts a stop to it. Next, Daffy gives his rising candidate a speech he ripped from a Ronald Reagan campaign, but it doesn’t matter because some guy at school named Steve wins.
Meanwhile, Porky moves in with Daffy and Bugs after selling his house due to money constraints and not having a catering job in about a year. Of course Porky suffers from a bit of OCD and as such starts rearranging Bugs’ kitchen so that everything is in immaculate order in what Porky likes to call his ‘system’. Soon Porky starts implementing changes ALL OVER Bugs’ house from his computer desk and music collection to the linen closet, Porky goes after it all. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like he’s leaving anytime soon either due to the fact that his education is pretty much worthless. It starts to get too much and whilst Daffy is paper mache-ing Gossamer, Bugs tells his roommate all about to which he clearly doesn’t care. When Porky gets back from shopping we find out that Speedy’s mouse hole has been organized, but he loves it and as such Bugs recommends Porky go over to PizzARiba to organize over there for a while. Turns out Porky does SUCH a good job, that Speedy brings him on to help full time in opening new restaurants with a medieval theme all of which Porky knows a ton about and as such is eager to help. Because of this, Porky gets to move out of Bugs’ house PRONTO! Unfortunately, on the first day of Speedy’s new expansion, Porky does one more bit of organizing…featuring crocodiles!
Even with both plots not being the most original ideas I’ve ever seen, it was good to get some new Looney Tunes Show. Daffy’s different techniques to getting Gossamer elected was rather comical, and I couldn’t believe the Ronald Reagan name drop. Porky’s system was again cliche and we’ve seen it a lot before like in episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond, but because of the different pulls with Bugs and Speedy the story was entertaining.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
