Jon Lovitz says ‘Family Guy’ has borrowed scenes from ‘The Critic’
I smell another CROSS OVER!!!!!
Remember for the longest time when people would say that Family Guy ripped off The Simpsons? And then it became American Dad ripped off Family Guy?? Or how The Cleveland Show was just a rip off of Family Guy??? Well guess what! Jon Lovitz of former The Critic fame told Huffpost Live! that Family Guy has BORROWED scenes from The Critic!
For those that don’t know, The Critic was a series that aired in the 90s that kind of sort of got a back door pilot on The Simpsons where the character was introduced in Springfield to help ‘sell’ the show to FOX audiences and see what happens. Instead the series got cancelled, but it would relaunch the careers of Mike Reiss and Al Jean, two dudes that would help keep The Simpsons funny a bunch of years later.
So, what are your thoughts? Is Family Guy a rip?
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
