REVIEW: GRAVITY FALLS “BOSS MABEL”

Spoilers Below

Mabel thinks Stan is running the business wrong and to prove it she makes a wager that she can do it better while Stan goes on vacation which for him means getting on a game show called ‘Cash Wheel’. Mabel institutes a bunch of changes to the Mystery Shack, like allowing Wendy to bring friends, letting Dipper find real monsters as opposed to dressing up like them, and dressing up Soos as a question mark. However, Mabel’s ways are hitting the store where it hurts…in the wallet! All of the changes begin to back fire on Mabel, like Soos becoming self-conscious with the way he looks in his costume, Wendy causing a big mess in the store, and Dipper’s monster flipping out of control! As a result, customers are leaving the store in droves all the while Mabel is collecting refunds left and right in an attempt to keep people happy.

With Stan on the game show, the producers can’t help but notice his craziness is a great opportunity for big ratings and even more so when he wins big cash and prizes all the while making a fool out of the contestants and the host. Eventually, Stan rakes in like 300 grand, but he gambles it all the way after losing out in the bonus round. After scaring away the monster, Dipper and Mabel have 7 hours to get the store in tip top shape so that they can make a profit and Mabel can win her bet against Stan.  That said, Mabel has to start getting mean to make money, so after she bosses the workers around the store gets put back together and BAM! We have a $1 profit (after taking into account new money minus all the damage the monster caused)! That’s exactly $1 more than what Stan made at the game show, but Mabel decides against winning her prize which was to be boss of the store, mainly because she can’t be mean like Stan. Awwwwwwwe!

And yea, we missed Gravity Falls just as much as you did and this was a rather entertaining episode to come back to.  For one the big huge monster was funny as hell as you wouldn’t think a big hulking bastard would be all into messing around with the wall mounting singing fish, but to see how that was directed was a thing of beauty and had me rolling. Also, Soos running around half-naked as a question mark was disturbingly funny, but the real money this episode was all the changes Mabel made in the end to get the store back in black including Dipper as a new tour guide. Package that together with Stan on a Wheel of Fortune game show acting like a doof, and this episode was all boss.
