REVIEW: REGULAR SHOW “TGI TUESDAY”

Do people really get excited on Tuesdays???

Spoilers Below

Who parties on a Tuesday?? NO ONE! But, with Margaret potentially having to move, Mordecai wants to send her away with the biggest party ever…on a Tuesday. But, what are the ingredients for a kick ass party?? Well, you need a bunch of people there of which Muscle Man takes care of, and you need a place to hold the party! Unfortunately, the town has not one club open on Tuesdays for parties, but thankfully Benson tells them of an old abandoned ball room where at one point they used to have the BIGGEST balls of them all! *tee hee*

There is a condition however, Benson tells Mordecai, Rigby, and Eileen that in order to use the ball room they have to clean it first, and with a few hours to go this sounds like a piece of case, right? Welp, turns out the ball room is haunted, so much so that whenever the crew tries to clean it up some other-worldly spirit tries to ruin. We soon learn that the ball room is guarded by the spirits of three dudes that used to party hard here back in the day and that no one can clean up the place until their guest, Chelsea, arrives (which seems to be never).  After par-taking in a dance battle that sees them on the losing end, Mordecai, Rigs, and Eileen seem to have lost the place. But, after talking with the spirits they come to realize that Margaret means a lot to Mordecai and opt to let them use the place. The party starts, but apparently Margaret isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

I thought that ending was a bit sudden, don’t you think? I mean, we spent the entire episode wondering if Margaret was going to leave only to find out that she isn’t going anywhere…weird. Add in the fact that we had TWO musical montages, and you might have had the makings for a bad episode, but the whole idea of taking what should have been a run-of-the-mill party deal and turn it into a bit of a spooky story with balls and a fun soundtrack that ends with a slow-dance jam with Marge and Mordecai, and you get yourself a pretty decent effort that shows its heart…albeit late. That said, I’m happy as hell that Regular Show is back, aren’t you?
