REVIEW: CRASH CANYON ‘127 HOURS’
Spoilers Below
This week’s episode, “Less Than 127 Hours” gets its name from Danny Boyle’s 2010 docudrama “127 Hours”, a film about a mountain climber who becomes trapped in a canyon and well, I won’t spoil the film for you. The “Less Than” part of the title comes from a strange man with a terminal illness, who falls into the canyon, and the resident paramedics, Pete and Carol, give the latest canyon arrival a diagnoses and how much time he has left to live. The episode begins when Norm realizes the canyon is drifting apart, so the Wendell’s go on an expedition to find a special plant called “Huge Red”, something a little easier to pronounce then it’s dozens-of-syllables biological name.
On their way to the expected sight, they come across a troop of mushrooms, which according to Norm’s book, they were “widely popular in the 60s for their hallucinogenic powers”.And obviously, Uncle Vernon can’t help but eat the magic mushrooms; resulting in a hallucinogenic trip where he can’t help but eat the imaginary figures he comes across.
When a man named Bobby Joe falls into the canyon during the expedition, it turns out that has been dealt a poor hand in life and his plummet into the canyon was an attempted suicide. After contracting a disease, the canyon plans Bobby Joe’s impending funeral, to which he hopes would come sooner.
The episode sheds some light on darker tones of comedy, making plenty of jokes about death and suicide. It was refreshing to see some drug humor as well, and as always, some quips about Canadian pop culture icons, such as Rita MacNeal.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
