REVIEW: THE CLEVELAND SHOW(@CLEVELANDonFOX) “A GENERAL THANKSGIVING EPISODE”
Holt has the blues over Thanksgiving because he wasn’t invited to his family’s holiday dinner, so Rallo invites him and his father (voice of Will Arnett) to dinner to get them to reconcile with each other. Meanwhile, Cleveland opens an airport bar. Rallo and Holt (voices of Mike Henry and Jason Sudeikis) perform an original song.
Spoilers Below
Cleveland’s getting ready to franchise the ‘Broken Stool’ at the airport and as such brings Rallo and his friends along to help out. However, Holt’s all depressed and to try and cheer him up, Rallo brings him to the local park where they meet a hot lady and with the power of two seduce the lady into a date for Holt. Meanwhile, Cleveland learns that his new business venture already has a bunch of competition. Having helped put in a bunch of money into Cleveland’s hair brain scheme, Gus is pissed and he wants to make sure he gets his money back or Cleveland and his pals will NEVER be aloud back in the bar.
Turns out Rallo is doing a great job in helping Holt get out of his depression by helpin’ him score ladies in exchange for cash and prizes. Yep, everything’s lookin’ legit but Holt’s afraid of riding swings at the park of which Rallo helps show him the ropes and thereby helps the dude overcome his fears. Talking about fears, people’s fear of flying may be warranted as Cleveland gets shitty drunk and commandeer’s an aircraft and just heads toward the sun. Rallo comes through for Holt and helps him reconnect with his dad just in time for Thanksgiving, but already we can see that’s a bad idea as the son of a bitch is a General and his relationship with his son is contentious at best. That said, Rallo invites the hard ass for Thanksgiving dinner but where’s Cleveland? Yep, he’s still in the air and he doesn’t know how to fly a plane and as such Tweets for help. Thankfully, General Richter is in town and with the help of his son is able to rescue Cleveland and bring him back safely. The plane crashes into Cleveland’s bar which is great because Gus doesn’t care anyway. On the other hand, we learn that the General isn’t crazy about his short son but Holt’s OK with the way he is so fuck him.
For thanksgiving we get a great episode of The Cleveland Show that offered up a bunch of fresh and exciting new possibilities in helping go deeper into some of the stable of characters for the show. For one, this week was the most we’ve heard from Tim the Bear in a LONG time and together with Ernie provided a one-two punch in one-liners that helped spice up the show. That said, the real star tonight was Holt who finally was able to spread his wings and provide true value to a season that was in dire need of a break out character outside of the Brown family. Here’s hoping we see more like this, oh yea and the occasional cameo by Herbert every now and again doesn’t hurt either.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
