REVIEW: THE LOONEY TUNES SHOW “ITSY BITSY GOPHER”
Daffy and Lola search for a missing gopher.
Spoilers Below
A spider invades Daffy and Bugs’ apartment but instead of trying to catch it Daffy decides to hang out with Lola to go antiquing. However, once they get to the store the manager complains that his friend Tosh the gopher is missing! Daffy suspects foul play and decides to take the case. After getting a detailed description the dynamic duo are off to investigate the matter but not before buying a lamp for Bugs who is still trying to find this spider of whom later he finds out is an African Sand Spider and as such requires Porky’s ‘help’. First thing the crime detectives do is go to the office supply store where Lola sketches up an image to make a bunch of copies in hopes of distributing flyers to people so they can get some leads. However, the depiction comes out looking just like Speedy!
Next thing Daffy and Lola do is go to a mailbox that Tosh was on his way to and to further investigate they both go inside the mailbox which is against the law and as such they get busted! Later, Bugs and Porky try to send in Taz to go and get the spider but the crazy pet is afraid of them so Bugs decides to call in pest control. Turns out Gossimer has a lost spider that kind of looks like an African Sand Spider but is totally harmless so as the gas is going off Bugs goes in and saves the spider…or does he?? Nope, and Bugs gets bitten by the spider and passes out cold and as such ends up in the hospital narrowly escaping amputation Meanwhile, after chowing down on some cookies, Lola and Daffy decide to just by a new gopher from the store but guess who walks in behind them?? Well, besides Speedy and Sam with an award flier.
Looney Tunes delivers the laughs yet again with the exception of that silly ending song. That said as good as Daffy was during the course of his plot, Lola was again exceptional while flawlessly moving between beautiful sequiturs and silly ideas that flow seamlessly. Bugs was no slouch though but besides the Taz joke, it wasn’t all that humorous and as such left a lot to be desired.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
