WARNER BROS. IS A BUNCH OF “RASCALS!”
Brendan Hay is a former The Simpsons writer but he’s probably best known in the animated world for Robot Chicken as he had a much longer stint there but the guy is a big name in the comic book world and recently released a graphic novel this past December known as Rascal Raccoon’s Raging Revenge. It was a great read I thought, and evidently I’m not the only one who thought so because Warner Bros. has optioned the popular comic into a live action/CG hybrid film similar to Roger Rabbit(if you haven’t seen that movie you should do so…NOW).
According to The Hollywood Reporter Matt Fogel is attached to write the script and Todd Strauss-Schulson(Harold & Kumar) is going to direct…
“Rascal Raccoon, created by Brendan Hay and Justin Wagner, is set in the a place called Toonie Terrace, where good-natured Toonies rambunctiously and without fail outwit the Meanies, who are trying to do them in. The story is set in motion when Rascal Raccoon finally and unexpectedly kills his longtime nemesis, Jumpin’ Jackalope. Needing a new target, he sets his sights on the animator who created him.”
No word yet on a release date or casting news, however the project itself sounds totally refreshing in an industry that is constantly beating us over the head with 3D animated film after 3D animated film…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
