Peter is looking to raise money to try and get Chris into a hot dog eating contest against the touring champion Charles Yamamoto. While looking through the attic looking for shit to sell, Stewie and Brian uncover an album cover titled News of the World from the band Queen so frightening it sends Stewie into a frenzie much to the delight of Brian. As a matter of fact Brian uses a bunch of different means to fuck with Stewie, going so far as to pretty much put the album cover everywhere he thinks Stewie will look. Eventually, Stewie gets so stressed out by Queen’s album cover that he kills Rupert and almost himself causing Brian to talk Stewie off the ledge.
Chris gets his entry into the hot dog eating contest and ends up kicking the shit out of the defending champion. However, winning has its sacrifices as Lois is worried about Chris’s health so much so that she signs up both her son and Peter for fat camp. However, this is no ordinary camp as while on a hiking trail, the Griffins stumble on to a dead body in which Peter opts to place the blame on Lois’ recently released brother-in-law Patrick who has a long time habit of killing fat people, but is let off the hook when another body is found while Patrick is handcuffed. In a Silence of the Lambs esque turn of events, Patrick helps out Joe and Peter find the culprit, leaving Chris alone to be attacked by a sore loser from the hot dog eating contest only to be saved by Stewie and his robot derived from the Queen cover.
This was supposed to be a Friday the 13th parody but to no avail, as they really only had the one cutaway gag with Jason Vorhees and his son featured in the episode. Speaking of the cutaways, they were awesome tonight, with one of them featuring Jeff Ross roasting a duck, and then Peter beating the shit out of a goth-punk. The B-plot was really strong tonight, as I wasn’t expecting to see Lois’ brother as a possible culprit. Also, I couldn’t help but point out the easter egg of Barry from American Dad at the fat camp, albeit without any lines. The A-plot with Brian and Stewie was short-but that wasn’t a bad thing as the writers took the joke as far as they could saving it from being repetitive. That’s the stuff good TV writing is made of.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
