Louise is convinced that there is buried treasure under an old taffy factory that is about to be demolished. As a result, her and her siblings set off on an adventure that takes them through the dark caverns that is the under ground. Unfortunately, the Pesto kids decide to tag a long which causes Louise to ditch everyone else and go at it alone, that is until she is tackled by a life-sized build made of taffy that causes her to fall into a deep well. At first she’s kind of freaked out, but soon the caricature ends up as more of a “Wilson”(Castaway) where Louise thinks of it as more like a companion than something that is sticky and gross.

Bob and Linda are back at home trying to have a nice romantic evening, but when Linda’s “spider-sense” gets tingling, she goes to check on the kids only to find out that they are nowhere to be found. When the parents arrive at the factory, they find the Pesto kids strung up who then in turn lead them to go find Louise who is then saved just in the nick of time.

Aside from The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers was really the only other show that had a parody of a movie known as The Goonies and surprisingly enough they did a faithful adaptation of the classic film that brought us the likes of Josh Brolin, Corey Feldman, and Sean Astin, but with the lovable, adoring charm that comes with spending an evening with “The Belchies”. Also, noted that the producers kind of changed the opening intro, pumped some dollars into the production budget which shows because the animation is as good as ever, and then closed out the episode with the Cyndi Lauper cover. Having said that, I thought it was interesting the first episode of the season, and we don’t even get any kind of reference to the restaurant as it barely acts as a setting. If I were someone who had NEVER seen this show, and this were the very first time, I would be like “so why do they call this show Bob’s Burgers I don’t see a restaurant here?” Other than that, it was a grand re-opening of a show that will surely help everyone forget about Allen Gregory(except for the fact that we had to sit through Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum “hosting” this weekend’s Animation Domination while promoting their new movie and official new entry into the Netflix queue, 21 Jump Street).
