Review: Crash Canyon “Poker Night”
This week we start to see The Wendells become a bit more comfortable with their surroundings and people as Roxy looks to organize a teen dance and Norm loses his wedding rings in a poker game organized by the guys. All in all a better episode then the pilot…review after the jump!
As expected the Wendells are getting bored sitting in a canyon so everyone tries to do things to help ease their boredom. Norm gets with the guys in a couple of rounds of poker and Roxy organizes a dance with the other teen girls in trying to woo Royce into her arms. Later, Jake teaches unsuccessfully teaches his dad how to play poker so he ends up doing it himself in a game of Texas hold-em which leads us into an ending that would only get better if Roxy was miserable…;)
So, overall a MUCH better effort this week, I got laughs from the ventriloquist, and Vernon continues to deliver as the highlight of the gang, and all of the sudden here comes the Butanes offering up a few laughs of their own. Not as many cutaway gags in this one(which was fine with me) but they are starting to be different than Family Guy‘s gags. You see, Family Guy‘s gags usually involve things that couldn’t happen in the real world(which is what most of Family Guy is) asking you to take a leap of faith in the name of comedy. Crash Canyon‘s gags involve ‘real’ world situations that give us laughs without all the fluff.
Rumor has it Crash Canyon maybe coming to the US next year and if we get more episodes like this I will be more than looking forward to it.
Big shout out to CanadaToons for getting me a stream!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
