Review: Steven Universe “Beach City Drift”
Was last night’s episode of Steven Universe a day at the beach?

Steven, Connie, and Greg encounter Kevin, the douchebag, at the car wash. Angry at Kevin’s douchiness, Steven and Connie decide to fuse into Stevonnie so they can race cars against Kevin. In the middle of the race, Steven and Connie realize that they don’t have to be obsessed with Kevin. They can just let their anger go and continue with their lives. Sure, Kevin beats them in the car race but they beat him at life.
Eh, this was a boring episode. It had some nostalgic references to old 80s movies with montages of the good guys battling the bad guys. In the end, it didn’t really contribute anything to the series. This one could have been left on the cutting room floor.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
