Episode Synopsis: When Brian learns that Carter Pewterschmidt’s drug company has developed a cure for cancer but is keeping it from the public to maximize profits, he and Stewie attempt to expose the pharmaceutical bigwig. Later, Quagmire reveals a big secret. Original Air Date: Oct 21, 2012
Quagmire’s bald and so now he acts like the old man on the street. He’s clocking cars, returning VHS’ to the library, and wearing sweaters. The other guys can’t take it so Joe and Peter convince Quagmire to get a hair transplant in the hopes that he will stop acting like a dick. Brian walks down the hall and stumbles onto Carter Pewterschmidt being told that he has cancer and looking completely worn out about the fact that he only has two weeks to live. Brian breaks the news to Lois whom takes the whole family over to Carter’s house so that they can assess the situation. Turns out, Carter looks fine which makes Brian think that he is working in a stunt double. As such, Brian and Stewie follow Carter to his office where they find out the old son of a bitch has the cure for cancer and cured himself.
Carter is basically keeping the cure for cancer in hopes that no one will get it so that his pharma companies can make profit on sick care rather then curing customers. Thankfully, Stewie grabbed the vial of cancer cure but they are quickly tracked down at home where Carter agrees to announce that he has the cure in tact. However, the next day we find out Carter lied like a motherfucker and he doesn’t give a shit.
When Carter is in a majority of an episode, it usually works because he’s the one you LOVE to hate. I mean, here is a guy who has a cure for a deadly disease and of course he doesn’t want to use it for fear of losing profits! Classic Family Guy. There were quite a few one liners in this week’s episode that were pretty off the wall like when Stewie tells Rupert to cover his balls, or when Peter does the flashback on his “prison shoes”, and lastly when Carter stands outside a Starbucks talking all sorts of shit to the staff! That said, the premise seemed unfinished to me near the end there but maybe its funny that the bad guy wins every once in a while. 200 is this Sunday Night so get ready!
