BubbleCAN: “Corner Gas” Names Emma Leroy Replacement For Upcoming Animated Series
Plus notes about the production schedule.

For those that aren’t aware, the original role of “Emma Leroy” was played by the late Janet Wright who passed away last year at the age of 71 in the original Corner Gas live-action series. So when the animated adaptation of the popular Canadian series was announced, a lot of people were wondering what was going to happen with the voice role of “Leroy” which, up until today, was not cast.
Fortunately, the Corner Gas animated series has officially found its voice for “Emma Leroy” and we now know the character will be voiced by Corrine Koslo who joins the rest of the Corner Gas cast which remains largely intact to reprise their roles from the live-action series to the animated series. The Corner Gas animated series has been picked up for 13-episodes by The Comedy Network and is slated to debut during the 2017/2018 season. The voice production is currently ongoing, and the animation process will kick off in May.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
