We Knew that Gravity Falls was ending a while ago (like two years ago)

On August 16th, 2013 we told you guys that Alex Hirsch was talking about the future of Gravity Falls on Disney XD, and the show’s creator was quick to point out that his show’s future was very much in doubt. We actually thought three seasons were going to be it, but Alex confirmed on Tumblr the other day that it’s gonna be two and we’re through.

That said, I wouldn’t say goodbye to the Gravity Falls franchise COMPLETELY as of yet. During that very same Reddit AMA that we were the only ones to cover, Alex mentioned the possibility of a Gravity Falls feature film. Whether or not that’s in the cards, I’m not sure, but I do know this.

Alex, has for a while, has been wanting to work on animated comedies that were more for the Adult Swim crowd. As we’ve seen from his work on Gravity Falls, Alex has a very astute mind for creating weird shit, and there isn’t anything weirder than shit on Adult Swim.

Gravity Falls says bye for now tonight only on Disney XD, check your local listings.
