Watch Real [Dumb] Celebrity Tweets … Animated!

One of the best things about Twitter is the fact that it brings famous people and entities closer to their fans and consumers, oftentimes completely eliminating any barriers separating the two parties.

This has some definite advantages for the Average Joe hoping for some star contact, especially when they gain a famous follower (thanks, Andrew WK!) as well as for the celebrity, since many of them entertain because they genuinely want to make people happy and interact with them. However, there can be drawbacks, as fans occasionally discover that their hero is a fraud/asshole/racist/moron, and in these situations, both sides essentially lose.

It’s not always this extreme, though – thankfully. Usually the result is that we “normal” folk inevitably discover that those we once placed on a pedestal are simply fellow human beings, just like us. Not necessarily better or worse overall. This means we all go through a lot of the same experiences in life, we all have a lot of really random thoughts that occasionally pop into our skulls, and we all post some really stupid shit on social media from time to time.

Enter “If Characters Said What Their Actors Tweeted,” a brilliant little concept from College Humor that inserts actual celebrity tweets into animated segments of them as their characters.

The big names include Russell Crowe, Tom Cruise, and Sylvester Stallone, and the tweets are so good (or bad) that they’re cringe-worthy. But hey, you’ve probably posted (or said) something just as idiotic, so don’t judge. The only difference between you and them is that they can wipe away their tears of regret with fat wads of cash.
