With Terry Fator not being part of the competition and Paul Zerdin being the lame-duck America’s Got Talent champion due to the fact that he won on Howard Stern’s final season as a judge, my bet was Darci Lynne Farmer walking into the finals as the ventriloquist to beat during AGT: Champions. Unfortunately, it looks like if that’s gonna happen, it’s gonna have to happen via the wild card round during the finals because Darci came in second place tonight during the preliminary rounds that aired on NBC with some of the performance that you can see below.
That said, Darci probably doesn’t need to worry. The AGT 13 winner has a very busy touring schedule for most of the 2019 year, so I can’t imagine that she’s gonna be upset for too long. She’s had a very busy 45 days between appearing on NBC Christmas specials and even getting her own hour, so something tells me she’ll be fine. Can she squeak out a win in the wild card? It won’t be for a couple of weeks, but in the meantime, maybe Paul Zerdin can rep the ventriloquists in the meantime.
