Watch 2016 Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz Try Out Some ‘Simpsons’ Impressions

Senator Ted Cruz is an interesting dude.

On the surface, the presidential hopeful and his politics appear as if they could pass for normal, at least to some poeple. And then the next thing you know, he’s ranting about working with Martians and rattling off impressions of characters from The Simpsons.

The Texas senator recently took a moment to sit down with BuzzFeed and try his best at a few impersonations from his favorite cartoon classic. “I’m auditioning for any part I can get in The Simpsons,” he joked.

They’re pretty awful, but at least the inflection is accurate, and Cruz proves he at least knows the show. An avid fan, in the past he has added Simpsons references to some of his social media posts.

Still, even Cruz knows he shouldn’t quit his day job – for any new endeavor.

“I have been told many times, I have a face for radio, and I have a face for animation,” he quipped.

We’d argue he also has a voice for silent films.
