Which TripTank shorts should be picked up for full seasons?
Anyone that says TripTank wasn’t a great show clearly didn’t understand the concept. The idea was that of taking a bunch of ideas of animated shows and putting them together to see which could be full-fledged TV shows. Liquid Television did this with Beavis and Butthead and Aeon Flux. So we decided to look back at the first eight installments of TripTank to tell you which shorts are best equipped to be full-fledged TV shows:
5) Bethiffer

I think this series would be best served in 12-minute run-times mainly because I don’t see a strong ”second-unit” type character or cast so the show would have to center all around Bethiffer as she tries to fit in a skinny world. This season we saw her go through some hilarity like buying sexy lingerie, fighting with her supposed best friend Jessica, and Bethiffer pretty much going all Total Recall in testing out virtual reality.
4) Gary the Wheelchair

The producers of Adult Swim’s upcoming Mr. Pickles gives us another effort just as weird and fucked up. Gary the Wheelchair serves up strands of Popeye and Uncle Grandpa but with an aesthetic that already starts to show daybyday’s trademarks. From raggedy women to a constant barrage of one-liners, this should could be a perfect companion for South Park on Wednesday Nights.
3) Versus

You may recall that MTV used to have a fantastic series called Celebrity Deathmatch featuring the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Judge Mills Lane, and a number of clay-animated depictions of celebrities fighting to the death. The first run of the series was rather spectacular, but when the network attempted to bring it back it wasn’t what it was, so it got the rightful cancellation. Versus can be that similar-type of series featuring a bunch of different match-ups that could be Comedy Central’s answer to Superjail!. However, I wonder if this one should be a CC:Studios deal, giving us maybe 20 episodes a year featuring a bunch of fights to the death for our enjoyment. Comedy Central needs to bulk up its online animated content and this could be the series that leads that charge.
2) Jeff & Some Aliens

Jeff & Some Aliens could be a show that does for Comedy Central what Rick and Morty did for Adult Swim. I think having one man with no superpowers be Earth’s only hope at survival could provide for a wealth of possibilities and with an animated series there really is no end to what ideas the producers could come up with for Jeff to do in an effort to save us all. I think 10-episodes in the 12-minute variety could do the trick.
1) Flower Teen Kill Team Go

Comedy Central could be the home of the ultimate Anti-anime. This series could literally re-write the rules of the art form for the simple reason that it takes place in the state of Texas and really meshes well a bunch of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds the likes of which we’ve never seen in an anime. I also think Comedy Central could really use a violent show. Yea, South Park does this very well every once in a while, but with only 10 episodes a year it may not be enough. Comedy Central should pick this up now for 10 episodes at 30 minutes each like yesterday.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
