“The Simpsons” Get An Emmy Nomination & A New Legal Filing Within ~24 Hours

The Simpsons have had a busy week, haven’t they? Most of it good news, for example, the return date/time on FOX, the crossover with VANS on the way, Comic-Con, and now a couple of Emmy nominations (more on that later).

But, where there’s good news, there’s also the continuing story revolving around former composer for The Simpsons, Alf Clausen, filing suit against Disney, the producers of The Simpsons, and FOX Entertainment for wrongful termination on the basis of ageism. In his most recent filing, Alf claims that the defendants are “full of lies and deceit” following the producers noting that the firing of Alf was legit due to the fact that his musical production skills were not living up to contemporary trends with further proof coming in the form of Alf sub-letting work to his son. Alf claims he wasn’t notified of his lack of skill-set, and notes that he’s produced music spanning numerous genres over the course of his 27-year tenure with The Simpsons.

A response is expected early next month, with possible expected delays on any resolution due to COVID-19. More as it develops.
