The Awesomes headed to SDCC 2015; S3 synopsis

the awesomes

We still don’t have a premier date, but show creator Seth Meyers has told us exclusively that The Awesomes season three should premier in August on Hulu. San Diego Comic Con will lay host to cast and crew for The Awesomes in what should be the biggest panel for The Awesomes in recent memory and will include Seth Meyers and Mike Shoemaker, Taran Killam, Ike Barinholtz, Paula Pell, Emily Spivey, and executive producer Dan Mintz. The panel takes place, Saturday July 11th from 2 to 3 pm at Hilton Bayfront, Indigo Ballroom.

Quite possibly the bigger news for The Awesomes is that a synopsis for the third season has been released and a number of awesome guest stars have been announced in the process. As you may have guessed from The Awesomes season two finale, Prock’s dad Mr. Awesome (Steve Higgins) is returning to Earth under the spell of Malocchio’s evil serum and now makes him enemy number one because he wants to destroy his son’s team. Malocchio (Bill Hader) is also back, however it’s unclear what his role will be in season three.

Speaking of cast, the entire cast from prior seasons returns and this go around they are finally accepted by America as being legitimate heroes. Your return lineup includes Seth Meyers (Prock), Ike Barinholtz (Muscleman), Kenan Thompson (Impresario), Paula Pell (Gadget Gal), Taran Killam (Frantic), Rashida Jones (Hotwire),Emily Spivey (Concierge), Bobby Lee (Sumo), and Josh Meyers (Perfect Man).  We can also expect return appearances from Maya Rudolph (Lady Malocchio), Will Forte (Malocchio Jr.), Rachel Dratch (Government liaison Joyce Mandrake) and Amy Poehler(Prock’s ex-girlfriend Jaclyn Stone).

What I’m really excited about is the number of guest stars headed for season three which include Vanessa Bayer and Fred Armisen as Prock’s Mom and Stepdad, Andy Samberg as SeaMan, the ruler of the water, Chris Kattan as adventurer Indiana Johnson, Jack McBrayer as the cupid-like Villaintine, and Billy Eichner as The Gayfather, kingpin of the “Gay Mafia.”

Again, no sign of a premier date for The Awesomes season three on Hulu, however I’m sure the panel at San Diego Comic Con should provide some answers.
