The Art Of Charlie Chan Hick Chye Getting Animated Series Adaptation
Currently in pre-production from 108 Media is a brand-new animated series in development called The Art Of Charlie Chan Hick Chye, the Singaporean graphic novel from Sonny Liew. The series will be produced in Singapore for 6-30 minute episodes that will be made available either late next year or early 2022. The graphic novel takes a look at Singaporean history and puts a satirical purview on it.
The series has garnered it’s creator with multiple Eisner awards and is a New York Times best seller.
Our Take
Netflix seems like a likely player here given that they both covet international IP and are looking to increase their “anime” category.
