Syfy Orders “Chucky”

Syfy has ordered a new Chucky TV series. The series comes from Dan Mancini who will set up the pilot. According to THR,

The new Chucky will explore the horror that unfolds in a small idyllic American town after a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale and the chaos the ensues when as a series of murders exposes the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the slayings as well as the doll’s untold origins.

As of now, it’s unknown whether or not Mark Hamill will return to voice the character as he did in the 2019 remake or if Brad Dourif will return.

Our Take

If Syfy can adopt the rules of sister network USA when it came to the visceral Mr. Robot, Chucky could be a solid addition to a network that desperately needs original programming.

Update 2/8: Jennifer Tilly will be returning to Chucky
