Shorts Review: Red vs. Blue Season 12 Episode 15
“Caboose, don’t ever stick your dick in crazy.”
Spoilers!
Man oh man, that is advice that needs to be thrown all over the world. How did we get there? Well, that’s a funny story. Doctor Gray, as it turns out, is a complete psychopath. That breakdown comes from watching her friends and colleagues at Outpost 37 turn to piles of ash. The ensuing commentary between Gray and the pirate is just downright hilarious. All you hear coming from the research facility is the screams of the pirate, and Gray singing opera in a very terrible way.
The entire episode revolves around the pirate, a well as his ensuing interrogation. After last week, I was expecting the pirate to be dead. But this one episode, he’s alive, and being a pain in the ass to Carolina. Then, the interrogation with Doctor Gray happens. She is able to get out a bit of information, like where the closest comms scrambler is. After this poor guy is put back together, the group extracts a little more information from this poor schlep. The information is flowing pretty well, until the research facility comes under attack, again. Wash finally puts some of the puzzle together, and teleports everyone out before anyone gets hurt. He turns to Caboose, and tells him that Freckles’s memory chip is what is letting the mercenaries track the team.
I loved this episode. I cannot say that enough. We finally see the chemical imbalance that the good doctor is showing, and I was floored every time I watched it. Unfortunately, this is just a set up episode. And much like everything I covered this weekend, it doesn’t give us a whole lot to work with. If what I am thinking is true, the last four episodes of Season 12 are going to be a doozy. With all of the hype that has built over Season 12, this has to end with an unprecedented bang. Otherwise, this may feel like a major letdown.
That’s the problem, though. I can’t help to think this, that with all of this great work Rooster Teeth has done with Season 12, this can only end in a let down. The action, writing, and animation are all there. Hell, even the pacing is there! The one problem that has been constant has been fixed, yet I can’t shake this feeling. I am hoping beyond hope that I am wrong, because it would be a great shame to a great series. Now, sit down, and take ten minutes out of your time to watch the latest episode of Red vs. Blue here!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
