Shorts Review: @FKRTV presents ‘This One Time’
Does the new series from the company that brought us Passion Pit live up? Find out after the jump!
Some Spoilers Below
Shows that are premised on embarrassing stories usually don’t do that well, and I think the jury is still out on whether or not this one can fix that legacy. In this episode we get an embarrassing story from one Syd Butler and yea the story is hysterical and just seems too intricate to be made up which is great because we get enough fake stories, right? In any case, Syd’s story is very funny but the presentation needs a lot of work and the run time is poorly mis-managed. The puppets actually do look rather adorable and the animations are OK, but I thought there was a lot of not needed footage like when one of the puppets are walking down the street and we get the shot of its feet. Instead I would have liked more juicy footage of the actual story. In terms of the run-time of it being listed at just under 4 minutes, do NOT be fooled there really is only 90 seconds with the rest just being a commercial for other FKR stuff.
We’ll do a check-in a few episodes from now to see if it gets better, but for now ‘This One Time’ is only getting watched ‘One Time’ from me.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
