Review: Wild Grinders – “Demolition Man” And “Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow!”

WGprofile

“Demolition Man”

JackKnife skates like a maniac, always busting up boards and smashing into people. To some this would seem like bad skater etiquette but to JackKnife it’s all just training for a higher purpose: The Sprawl City Skater Demolition Derby. He wants to compete to defeat his idol, Crash Basher, a masked man who has never been defeated. Crash hears this challenge and makes his presence known by wrecking JackKnife’s board. He then shoves him into a tiny box and delivers him to Goggle’s house.

The Demo Derby starts and JackKnife is on Goggle’s secret MAD board. The board contains bumpers, a horn and a piñata for some reason. Crash Basher makes short work of the other competitors, leaving just he and JackKnife with a shot at the crown. They battle towards the finish line and when the smoke clears JackKnife comes out on top. Crash Basher extends his hand in friendship to JackKnife, but JackKnife wants him to take off his helmet so he can see the true face of his idol. Crash obliges, only to reveal another helmet underneath and insuring another appearance on a future Wild Grinders.

“Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow”

Nyjah is known for his ability to land every trick while his extra long hair flows in the breeze. Goggles deduces that if he is able to harness the power of Nyjah’s hair, he could make the Grinders the skaters of the future. Rob abstains from this experiment. Every other Grinders gets a modified follicle from Nyjah and places it in their ear, turning them all into amazing skaters. But is it really that easy?

Nyjah is back at his house talking to aliens. It turns out his hair is actually a living mind control device sent down to Earth to conquer the world. The Grinders inadvertently joined this army and are trying to recruit Lil Rob. Nyjah and Rob are at the skate park when Rob offers his friendship and says that if Nyjah ever needs to talk he’ll be there. Nyjah is able to snap out of his trance for a moment to warn Rob about the hair invasion.

Rob tries to save everyone a couple of times but none of the attempts work. Meaty says he hates it when he has long hair. This sparks Rob’s imagination and he uses Meaty’s hair trimmers to save the team.
