Review: We Bare Bears “Icy Nights II”
Icy Nights in October?… Again?
Overview (Possible Spoilers Below)
This week’s episode kicks off when Ice Bear gets a distress alert from Yana and then the rest of the episode turns into a crazy high-tech spy-adventure story full of robots with Emoji smartphone heads, axes, a preppy Bond-villain with daddy issues named Barry, and a floating sentient Roomba with multiple gadgets.
This is a continuation of a previous episode only this time it further fleshes out Ice Bear’s past relationship with Yana. As they escape the complex with the Roomba in hand, the episode ends when Ice Bear and Yana go their separate ways and Yana’s locket is left behind. When Ice Bear opens it up, he discovers that her father in the image of the locket is “Yuri” from the episode Yuri and the Bear.
Our Take
This was another Ice Bear centric episode as it carefully tied together the previous two episodes “Yuri and the Bear” and “Icy Nights” in such a way that it makes sense. I’m curious how they’ll unravel more of this character arch as it got me to research Ice Bear after watching this and I’m sure Yuri’s sacrifice to protect him as a cub still weighs heavily on his conscience.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
