Review: We Baby Bears “Triple T Tigers/Panda’s Family”

Overview (Spoilers Below):

Triple T Tigers

The Bears meet three cool tiger brothers. Grizz wants to be just like the oldest tiger, TK, but he may not be the best role model.

Panda’s Family

While exploring a lantern festival, the Bears encounter Panda’s long-lost family.

Our Take:

Its first episode, “Triple T Tigers”, represents a plot that teaches viewers about the dangers of admiring role models. After meeting a famous dance group called the Triple T Tigers, Grizz is inspired to make the Bears famous, too. But unfortunately, fame comes with a price, as TK advises Grizz to be the alpha of the group.

It’s nice to be inspired by someone cool or famous, but when they show off their true colors, it may be time to quit while we’re ahead. The episode showcases a moral lesson about the values of friendship over popularity, and of course, not being a selfish butthole. Despite the plot being formulaic, the story has enough humor and charm to keep itself from receiving a ton of dislikes. By the way, Grizz’s first video being deleted for being embarrassing is one of my favorite visual gags of the series.

The second episode, “Panda’s Family”, involves the Bears at a Chinese lantern festival. While there, Panda reunites with his actual family, Uncle Panda and Cousin Panda, forcing him to make a tough decision. However, Panda’s “family” turns out to be Madeline and her fox mother in disguise, leading Grizz and Ice Bear to rescue Panda once again.

The episode marks the second appearance of Madeline, an obsessed Panda fan, and her mother, who’s determined to fulfill her daughter’s wishes. I didn’t mind the antagonists in “Hashtag Number One Fan” since they served as the source of the episode’s message, and I didn’t mind them in “Panda’s Family”. Although, their tolerability was a bit less lukewarm than their last episode. Hopefully, this will be the last time we see those crazy foxes because I don’t know how much more I can stand Madeline’s bratty attitude. Other than that, it’s a fun episode that shows the importance of family, whether they’re related or not.

Overall, both episodes feature plenty of enjoyment in their messages and entertaining stories. “Triple T Tigers” is humorous enough to earn many likes despite its formulaic plot. “Panda’s Family” is a colorful and fun episode that features familiar foes and the importance of family. As always, it goes to show that nothing’s more powerful than brotherhood, not even fame and sly foxes.
