Spoilers Below
Joel’s brother Brian is moved back into the house, and Joel can’t stand it as just: 30 seconds into the scene they are already trading fists to the point where Gary’s got to jump in and help his friend out! Thing isn’t all that great in school either, because, during an assembly inspired by Martin Luther King Day, a girl named Audrey gets in front of the whole school to announce that she is a lesbian which is ironic, because later on in the episode we learn that Brian is gay too.
Meanwhile, Darius has to attend a group workshop about tolerating people no matter what their sexual orientation or race is as a result of his shouting at Audrey right in the middle of the assembly, but he isn’t alone because Meg soon joins him as she had a run-in of her own with Audrey, because Audrey tried to kiss Meg only to be pushed on the ground. Soon enough the workshop turns into a party because Russ is there too, and then Gary and Joel who are there searching for answers in their discovery of Joel’s recently turned gay Brian. They think that Brian is ashamed of being gay and that’s why he hasn’t come out yet, so they go to the Internet Cafe to help and try to find a more meaningful relationship for Brian that he won’t be ashamed of only to find out that Brian sucks dick for Meth-money and isn’t really gay. Also, Meg is shocked to find out that her first kiss meant nothing as she sees Audrey with a new partner and then Brian gets a new partner in crime to help him with his drug addiction, helping Joel to see his big brother in a new light.
Firstly, I question the airing of an episode about Martin Luther King Day almost two months after the said holiday, it’s like The Simpsons Halloween episodes airing in February, it wouldn’t make much sense! Overall, this episode wasn’t that strong this week, I felt like the agenda was being pushed a little too hard this episode and as a result, the joke writing was almost non-existent. Russ was almost nowhere to be found, and Gary seemed like a third wheel for most of the 30 minutes run time. However, the episode wasn’t all bad as I thought Brian had some funny moments, mainly when he is fighting with Joel and also when the guys are at the Internet Cafe scoping out Gay Personal ads on Craigslist and their reactions to the obscene pictures. Mehhhhhhh
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
