Review: UFC Fightlore: Slice of Life-Legend of Kimbo Slice
The guy who single-handedly knocked out an entire MMA promotion by being on the receiving end of a knockout, Kimbo Slice is the main star of latest episode of UFC Fightlore.
For those that don’t know him, Kimbo was a street fighter based in Florida who would go on to obtain superstardom by starring in some of the earlier internet fight videos. The episode chronicles the rise of Kimbo from a homeless security guard to a somewhat successful fighter who helped take part in the highest-rated The Ultimate Fighter ever, the same episode that gave rise to the likes of Brendan Schaub, “Big Country Roy Nelson”, and a number of names that would go on to have successful careers both in and outside the Octagon.
While “Slice of Life-Legend of Kimbo Slice” trades in the animated visceral-ness of the show’s previous episodes with that of re-posted videos that can easily found on Youtube, the episode does feature a multitude of interviews with Dana White, Kimbo’s family, Mike Imber, and fellow former street fighter and possibly the most exciting fighter in the world right now, Jorge Masvidal.
A harrowing tale, and one of the earliest examples of a “Youtube celebrity” before there was such a thing, Kimbo makes for a fascinating story that could’ve been worth a ride on ESPN’s 30:30 and fit right in.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
