Review: TV’s Funniest Animated Stars: A Paley Center for Media Special
Butthurt. That’s what FOX is. Like, it must really bother this network that passed on South Park, cancelled American Dad! and Futurama, and picked up a bunch of shit in the process, is probably furious that a lot of those shows were “voted” on this list. Eric Cartman at number 11? Get the fuck off my porch.
And let’s get this shit straight, there isn’t a fucking chance that anyone did ANY sort of vote on this. Worse yet, Adult Swim is largely ignored save for Rick from Rick and Morty. Notable absences? Meatwad, Frylock, Master Shake, anybody from The Boondocks (there was a sighting, but not on the actual list), the Warden, Dethklok, and how about Jake from Adventure Time or Rigby and Mordecai from Regular Show?
That all said, there was a lot to like about this special. There were quite a bit of interviews astray, but there were definite absences. No signs of producers from South Park, and obviously characters from FOX cartoons are up and down this list like nobody’s business, but the lack of Simpsons voices was rather interesting. Also, there seemed to be audio-mixing issues in a bunch of the clips, but FOX did their very best at producing a documentary about cartoons. Unfortunately, it’s clearly produced by the same people that produce the Teen Choice Awards.
Kudos to Fred Savage providing the voice over, and we got to see a lot of good faces like Billy West, Jeff Bergman, and a whole lot more, but I wish FOX would quit being so ignorant of the truly great animated television that’s on TV. A classic list? Nope…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
