Review: The Casagrandes The Oddfather; Long Shot”
Overview
“The Oddfather”
Carlos has to choose Carlitos’ Padrino in time for his Christening.
“Long Shot”
Carlota needs a PE credit to graduate, so she and Ronnie Anne set out to find the right sport for her.
Our Take
For the first half, Carlo’s is put in a bit of a bind but comes across the last person he’d expect Carlito to be his “Godfather” who turns out to be a longtime friend of the family, Vito Filliponio. At his core, Vito means well despite some of his antics coming across as weird or off-putting. At one point Carlos even tries to find elaborate ways to keep Vito from even going to the Christening, but predictably it ends the way you’d expect…
As for the other episode, Carlotta has to find a sport she’s good at to complete her graduation, and out of sheer dumb luck, comes across one that she didn’t think she’d be into and in the process, learns much more about herself than she could ever imagine in terms of athletic skills thanks to Ronnie Anne…
Overall, both episodes were very focused on the “Carl” branch of the Casagrandes in different ways. The first half was about learning to put your trust in people who may have their quirks, but what matters the most is if their hearts are in the right place, while the other half is about being in your element when it comes to finding something your potentially good at and finding a unique way to express that talent while feeling comfortable in your skin. With Two episodes left next week, how could they possibly end the final season?

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
