Review: The Amazing World of Gumball “The Possession “

Listen as the wind blows from across the great divide

Overview (Spoilers Below)

The fridge is broken and Richard doesn’t have it in his heart to replace it. They have a warranty on the home appliance so they opt to go to the store in which they purchased the fridge so that they can get it fixed or a replacement. No one else around town wants it with the slight exception possibly being the garbage truck. We soon learn that the fridge is actually a capsule for emotions and, as a result, goes nuts while it swallows Richard. Mom and Grandma decide to go in after Richard who after a little consoling eventually leaves the frozen confines of the fridge and comes back home. Rich trades in the fridge and gets another one that does one thing…keeps his food cold.

Our Take

It took a while but we got some new Gumball and the effort is a good one. The Simpsons, Family Guy, and others have done most of this bit with couches and sub sandwiches, but with that sci-fi spin at the end, the producers do a good job of making “The Possession” enough of their own.
