Review: Teen Titans Go!“Ghost With the Most”
Overview
When the Halloween Spirit is kidnapped, the Titans must team with the unlikeliest of characters to save the holiday…Beetlejuice!
Our Take
Given that Warner Bros. owns most of Tim Burton’s creations (Including Beetlejuice who in this cartoon is voiced by Alex Brightman who coincidentally played him in the Broadway adaptation of the movie.) I’m not surprised this crossover happened to some degree. After all, Burton did direct the 89 Batman film and Batman Returns. Of course, this is a kid-friendly take along the lines of the 90’s cartoon but even more, toned down while cramming as many references along with wacky & grotesque visual gags from the movie as possible and with the freedoms of Animation, they kinda use that to their advantage.
Overall, I can safely say this was a surprisingly fun episode for people who are fans of Beetlejuice as it manages to capture the dark yet colorful spirit of the film while being a bit meta about it. And I think for kids who have never even heard of Beetlejuice this could be a jumping-on point for them as the movie remains an 80’s classic for anyone’s Halloween movie night.
Hi Ashley, thank you so much for reading and we love the feedback. Note that on that day we had 14th posts go up and only ten posts show on the front page, so it's possible the preview had already been archived by the time you got to it. One recommendation would be to add our RSS feed to your favorite news aggregator service like Feedly, this way you get all of the latest posts!
