Review: Squidbillies “Zen and the Art of Truck-Boat-Truck Maintenance”/”Who-Gives-a-Flip?”
Overview (Spoilers Below)
“Zen and the Art of Truck-Boat-Truck Maintenance”
Early takes part in Yoga to fix his back, and it causes a life-changing event that convinces him that he’s joined ISIS. As a result, Early goes around town teaching Yoga and enlisting ISIS recruits. After a while, Early likes the deposits he be keeping from his students, and this turns yoga into another money-making scam.
“Who-Gives-a-Flip?”
Rusty is making a killing with Dan Halen Security sales, but Rusty has found a loop hole that has allowed him to rob all of Dan’s customers blind. One of those customers, the Sheriff, loses an irreplaceable kabuki mask that causes him to go through a bout of deep depression. We come to find out that this mask is for a mascot called “Who Gives A Flip?” once portrayed by the Sheriff, entertaining masses that brought him such joy. Early, being the one who stole the damn thing, opts to give the thing back.
Our Take
A split decision for me tonight. “Zen and the Art of Truck-Boat-Truck Maintenance” wasn’t bad, however, probably doesn’t have a long enough run time as we only get to really enjoy the patented money-making Early schemes for a few minutes, but, “Who-Gives-a-Flip?” was pretty damn funny. Early’s 79-dog security system featured some wonderfully gruesome moments though I would’ve liked to have seen some Dan Halen reaction to the burglaries going on downtown. Irregardless, one of the more solid weeks of the Tracy Morgan-era Squidbillies.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
