Review: South Park ‘Titties and Dragons’

Spoilers Below

While Stan & the PlayStation 4 supporters plotted to gain access to the mall by somehow entering though its Red Robin, the Cartman/Kyle/Xbox army appeared to announce that they wanted to join forces – and support the PS4 –  since the kids have a better chance of penetrating the building together. Stan was reluctant to accept the enemy group, but when they proposed a way to successfully use the Red Robin (by renting it out for a Red Robin wedding party – a Game of Thrones reference so obvious that even I got it) Stan relented. However, it was revealed that Kyle & Cartman were being dishonest. By the way: it was revealed to Stan by the old man who owns the garden that Cartman uses for his talks, during one of said talks.

After finding out Cartman then got Stan grounded, Kyle announced at the Red Robin Wedding Party that he has decided to switch sides to support his friend. However, instead of a fight breaking out amongst the kids, it instead wound up coming down to a physical battle just between Bill Gates and the CEO of Sony, with Gates emerging as the victor. The boys then trekked through the carnage and destruction that was Black Friday to get their Xbox One.

In the end, the boys weren’t fulfilled while playing with their new console, and decided that maybe there’s more to life than video games, and that they have more fun without them. This was immediately followed by an ad for the new South Park game, The Stick of Truth.

Although this was the least funny of the trilogy, this was still an entertaining conclusion. Of course one should probably expect the last installment to be more plot driven, as it has to tie up all the loose ends, and this episode did a great job of doing just that.

Don’t get me wrong, there are still some funny scenes, the garden and the all the Princess Kenny jokes especially – it just wasn’t as quotable as the first two.

There was, however, some great imagery in this one. The anime style in several scenes and the Black Friday crowd sequences were extremely well done, and the decision to add real footage of shoppers on Black Friday was genius.

I’ll close by saying that although the finale of a trilogy would make a great finale to a season, I’m really glad there’s still one more to go.
