Review: South Park “DEEP LEARNING”

Overview

Stan is reeling when a cheating scandal hits the school in the form of ChatGBT being the source in which all of the kids are taking advantage of this new tech in the form of helping with school book reports, dealing with girlfriends, and more.

Our Take

How about that. A new episode of South Park co-written by ChatGBT and Trey Parker. The extremely divisive technology is at the center of the upcoming WGA negotiations and have most of everyone in Hollywood running as fast as they can to unions that in five years aren’t going to protect them anymore anyway. So who better to drop a mic, and then take off for two weeks than the good ol’ folks at South Park Studios.

ChatGBT is still in it’s infancy, and personally I’ve never been crazy about adding MORE subscriptions to my pile which is exactly what happened when Microsoft purchased the company a few months back, thereby setting off the AI wars for the world’s largest tech companies, and it shows in the program’s script writing capabilities. That said, I remember a time when cell phones flipped, music was purchased, and snowy days meant no school for a few days. Nowadays with the advancement of tech, we all know none of this is true anymore, and soon enough, the same will be for Hollywood.

Personally, I’d love to see an entire episode of South Park 100%-produced in web3 tech, and with Matt Stone and Trey Parker recently launching a deep fake production company called Deep VooDoo that has already secured a $20 million investment, these guys aren’t whining and complaining about web3 technologies for use in show business like some of the other crybabies of Hollywood, they understand that in EVERY business, you adapt, or you die.

Again, the script-writing capabilities aren’t quite there for ChatGBT yet, but one day we’re going to look back on this episode like we do when we think of the many chimps that we’ve sent to outer space when testing space flight capabilities and marvel at how far we’ve come in web3 show business production. Trey Parker’s genius is still quite evident in this week’s episode, in just a few seasons, we may not even need that.
