Review: South Park “1%”

Spoilers below!

So, Cartman causes the school’s health fitness program to be graded at an all time low and as a result the rest of the kids are pissed because now instead of recess they have to do gym class! Feeling slighted, Cartman starts a tear on everyone in school that discriminate him for being “one lazy bitch”. However, things take a turn for the worse when someone breaks into Cartman’s house and steals his Clyde Frog, then nails him to the side of the tree. After, what looked to be a pretty expensive funeral that included bagpipes and a rousinng eulogy by Cartman pretty much accusing Kyle of these atrocities. This act closes with Butters and Jimmy staging a rally supporting the 99%.

Next scene sees Cartman staging a tea party with his mom and his stuffed toys, all of whom have an opinion on who killed Clyde frog.  The cops have troubles of their own, as the rally has quadrupled! So much so they had to move into a Red Robin…well kind of. This includes Michael Moore who is completely supportive of the cause. Another day, another casualty, someone takes out “Peter Panda” so Cartman and his family are scared to the point of moving in with Token’s family.

After, we get a fight, between the 4th(the 99%) and 5th grade (83%)classes someone grabs the rest of Cartman’s toys and destroys them all(or someTHING!). I’m not going to spoil the ending because its something straight out of “Beautiful Mind” or “Fight Club” or some shit. As for the kids “Occupying” Red Robin…well it plain just didn’t make ‘cents.

Overall, another solid episode, and yet another animated show that very well might get media attention. Clearly, the message here is that the #OWS movement is bull shit and I couldn’t agree more. I think its about time those “98 percenters” go out and occupy monster.com and find jobs because their “I’m unemployed and now I’m pissed” routine is running thin, and people are starting not to give a shit(except the media anyway).
