Review: Red vs Blue “The Shisno Paradox”

Divine intervention.

Overview: 

The main cast argues about food, but it seems that the gods have something else in store for them.

Our Take:

The episode starts with two knights questioning the existence of God and ends on a similar note. Although the series has never brought any questions about divine power, it’s clear that’s soon to change.

After the events of the last season, the entire team sits around and debates on what they want to get. While everyone has different opinions, they all end up settling on pizza. Caboose calls it a ‘pizza quest’ something that ends up catching the attention of two orbs of light. While we don’t see the identity of the two orbs, or even know what they are, we know that they’re some sort of observant force. They refer to the main cast as humans and are able to traverse space with ease, and especially without the aid of a spaceship. The most senior of the two orbs report to some sort of unseen being about a prophecy coming to light, which makes it seem like they are in charge of observing the happenings of the universe. Perhaps when the younger one inevitably makes a mistake, their true form will be revealed by the main cast.

The device that the Blues and Reds created was also shown to have a different objective than what we originally thought- something targeting Donut. When it zapped Donut, apparently it did something to his body. He creates clones of himself, breaks down his body, and warps out of space off the island. This is also told to be part of a divine objective, but it’s very unclear what the purpose of it is.

It’s hard to tell exactly what’s to come, especially from an episode where the good chunk of it is spent arguing about food, but there are plenty of setups.
