Review: Red vs Blue “Caboose’s Guide to Making Friends”
Friends sold separately
Michael J. Caboose has been a hallmark member of RVB’s cast since its beginning. He’s supplied the lion’s share of the show’s catchphrases, he’s been the catalyst for many a important plot point, and he’s always represented a wide-eyed innocent optimism in the face of pointless, monotonous, and horrific bloodshed…even when he is sometimes the one causing it. In addition, his relationship with Church has been through many a trial by fire…partly because Church would likely rather light Caboose on fire than spend one more second around him. But in Caboose’s eyes, Church is his one and only best friend who he would protect against any problem…and if you’ve seen the show, you know how well that turns out.

Thus, we have this addition to the anthology, covering Caboose’s philosophies on making friends. It basically covers the character’s child-like outlook on the world through the events of the series thus far, especially when it comes to Church, whether he’s Alpha or Epsilon. Caboose has always had a knack for making impressions, if not actual friends, so this summarizes it pretty well. It also may or may not take place after the cliffhanger ending of Season 13, and it’s by the same writer which may be a point in its favor, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see on that.
Seeing as it’s only about five minutes long, there’s not really a whole lot to say about this one. It’s bright, cute, fun, and does tap into one of the bigger draws RVB had back in its first seasons, but then again that tends to be the better points of a lot of these segments. It’s by far a huge step up from the last episode with a bunch of nobodies we never cared about who died as quickly as we met them, hopefully that will remain our low point for the remainder of this. We only have about a handful of these left at most, one or two of which is bound to be another multi-parter, so I’m hoping that our approach into the final stretch can be a bit more substantial from here on. Regardless, this was an alright choice to spend five minutes on.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
