Review: Pig Goat Banana Cricket “Hospital Time”

Wash your hands, first.

Spoilers Below

The gang heads to a hospital to try out the hospital’s legendary mashed potatoes.

Banana plays a betting game where if he wins he gets a bunch of mashed potatoes in exchange for being a test subject. Problem is, the “host” doctor is kind of a dick and he keeps beating the shit out of Banana with mallets.

Pig does a surgery with Angry Old Raisin who is there to get a whole new body. Pig opts to help out by having Raisin sewed on his neck. After only one montage, Angry Old Raisin convinces Pig to put him back the way he was, but the nurse steals the body and makes oatmeal raisin cookies out of the Angry Old Raisin’s body. The nurse gets the shit beat out of him, and Pig’s able to build a new raisin body for his fourth best friend by eating all the cookies and spitting out all the raisins. The body is so good, that Pig decides to put HIS head on Raisin’s.

Goat fixes Tony Towel who is complaining of a bad neck, but Goat doesn’t do a lot to make it better and actually adds more injuries to Tony as time goes on. Tony gets put into surgery from all of Goat’s “fixes”, but he’s not what she had in mind.

Cricket makes himself sick so that he may be considered a patient worthy of the cafeteria’s mashed potatoes. Cricket helps spread some sort of a disease that turns everyone into flying hands looking to get even with Cricket. Eventually, the disease turns the whole hospital into flying hands including Pig, Goat, Banana, and Cricket but we learn that the mashed potatoes are, in fact, a cure. As a result, the gang starts mashing potatoes, but they need Tina towel to help complete the recipe that sets everyone back to normal.

Our Take

Hopefully, more episodes of Pig Goat Banana Cricket are on the way sooner rather than later because I want more season two. As mentioned in prior interviews, I love when the four guys are working together for a common goal, but taking different paths to get there…in this case delicious mashed potatoes.

I’ve noticed a lot of food plots in the series as a whole. Whether it’s Pig’s obsession with pickles or like this week everyone getting mashed potatoes, these writers sure like to write about food. In any event, I continue to be in awe of the character designs for this show, fans of John K’s Ren & Stimpy should really be into this shit because it’s just as ridiculous and the show is just as edgy.

Banana’s bit was by far the funniest with Cricket’s being a close second because he was the one who kicked off all of the flying hands which is shit that you’d typically see out of like Aqua Teen or something. However, as much as I like Angry Old Raisin, it seems like we’re getting him every week now for the show’s second season. Is he official? Like can we but him on the masthead of the show or no?
